USDA Arapaho & Roosevelt Pawnee Building

Building E of the Natural Research Resource Center has been designed to house the U.S. Forest Service's offices for the Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forest and Pawnee National Grassland District Ranger and Ecosystem Management coordination. In keeping with the facility's intended use, the building incorporates sustainable design features. The brick and stone exterior has a sloped roof for perimeter overhangs and to conceal a mechanical penthouse for an efficient central air mechanical system. Large windows are made of high-performance glass and outfitted with sunshades/light shelves on the South to maximize natural lighting and energy efficiency. The research center includes a visitor information area, a radio dispatch center, break room, dry labs and a loading dock. Other site amenities include mountain and city views, a parking structure, bike storage, entry plaza, patio and native Colorado landscaping.
