Rwanda Planning: King Faisal Hospital

Rwanda's apex health care and medical facility, King Faisal Hospital is developing a strategic plan to improve their health care services and meet their rapid growth in patient admissions as Kigali is transformed. OZ has completed a preliminary planning study for King Faisal Hospital to identify immediate needed improvments to be financed by the Saudi Development Fund and Government of Rwanda; to plan for the relocation of Kigali Health Insitute andNational University Faculty of Medicine on site to facilitiate clinical training; to explore how the facility can be expanded in the longer term future to support the hospital board's vision to be a center for excellence in health care and medical education for the continent of Africa, using new diagnostic, treatment and telemedicine technologies, sustainable building systems and evidence based design features.
