Sioux City 4th Street Promenade
Sioux City, IAThe Sioux City Promenade is a two-block-long pedestrian/auto mall that provides the city with a fresh venue for festivals and events. It also re-opens the connection between downtown Sioux City, the Convention Center and historic 4th Street - a connection that had been lacking since the Convention Center was built. The Promenade serves as a pedestrian mall during evenings and weekends, and provides controlled car access during office hours. Phase I of the Promenade project included a 50,000 square-foot cineplex and 15,000 square feet of retail space. Future phases will include the adaptive reuse of the Pierce Building, which will be converted to a boutique hotel; and a parking structure with retail wrap and residential units above.
