Agilent Technologies

Loveland, CO

OZ was retained to renovate Agilent's two-story, manufacturing facility in Loveland for office use. The design team was tasked with creating a large open office area with ease of circulation while working with an existing central core area, which was renovated for conference rooms, break areas and restrooms. The large office area was laid out to reflect the new ceiling clouds above providing visual continuity, systematic way finding, and acoustic properties. The feature design element of the project is a "Main Street," the primary circulation paths arranged parallel to the main windows. The Main Street is also defined by a distinctive arched ceiling system to create a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors. This project also provided a unique opportunity for custom designed carpets. The color palette utilizes bright colors, such as yellows, indigo, orange and green. These colors are reflected in the wall paints as well as the carpets. Waves of orange create a sense of play along Main Street and the color continues into each conference room. The palette is most playful in the breakroom and informal meeting areas where people feel a sense of comfort and social interaction. Tertiary circulation, marked by a purple accent carpet and open the structure above, is perpendicular to the Main Street. This connects through the core to provide direct access to the Main Street and outdoor public spaces. The renovation proved to be extremely successful based on employee satisfaction survey results. This base concept is now being utilized by the client to upgrade other facilities both locally and nationally.
