First Presbyterian Church of Brighton
Brighton, COThis facility was designed for a growing congregation in a small farming/light industry community. The symmetrical building commands its hill top site much like the large farm buildings on the surrounding plains. The square brick shape is topped with an exposed wood-truss supported roof 50 feet high, which is the dominant element within the sanctuary and the fellowship hall. The warm wood tones of the truss structure, combined with the natural light entering from multiple dormers, creates a light and airy space. The large rural site has impressive views of the mountains to the West and downtown Denver lights to the South. Future growth will be accommodated by additional classrooms within the attic and a "U" shaped addition to the North, enclosing a cloister garden.
