Longmont Pace Street Fire Station
, AKThe growing City of Longmont needed to build a new fire station to bring Longmont firefighters closer to achieving their goal of a five-minute response times to calls from eastern sections of the city. Located in the context of a residential neighborhood, the design makes use of complementary materials and massing on a residential scale. Also called Fire Station No. 3, the 13,000 square-foot facility includes three bays, a fully equipped apparatus room, a decontamination room off the bay in case of exposure to biohazards, two laundries, accommodations for six firefighters, a basement with a weight room, and public meeting space with a dedicated entrance.
