City of Fort Collins Office Building
Fort Collins, COLocated in downtown Fort Collins, the City of Fort Collins Office Building is the crown-jewel of the Fort Collins Civic Center master plan. The three-story office building is based upon great historic civic architecture that incorporates the surrounding environment and is unique within itself. Located next to a central plaza, which offers sunny and shady seating areas and unique landscaping, the City of Fort Collins Office Building will be a landmark for years to come. The 80,000 square-foot building is built around a masonry column module which sets up a rhythm of glass on the exterior. Daylighting, solar heating, and indigenous plant use were all parts of the 'green' building design utilized to make efficient use of natural resources. A well-defined main entry provides visibility and functionality to the building and the entry lobby acts as the building's center, while a service entrance allows free entry and exit of city employees. The building provides functional parking spaces, which reinforces a logical flow of access for pedestrians and vehicles alike.
