Mesa County Municipal Building
Grand Junction, COThis 80,000 square-foot facility houses the Health Department and the Human Services Department for Mesa County. As a design-build effort with Shaw Construction, project delivery was fast-tracked to meet the County's needs. The two-story brick and metal siding veneer houses offices, labs, and exam rooms, while the interior wall colors and wide hallways form a "mainstreet" that helps the public navigate the facility. Skylights afford natural lighting in the public areas and in the private lunchrooms. Expansive views are captured in bands of ribbon glass at the corners and in the lunchroom, and outside patios and play areas integrate the outdoor environment and semi-desert climate.
