North Star Ritz-Carlton Highlands
Northstar Ski Resort, Lake Tahoe, CAOZ Architecture is the executive architect in collaboration with design architects Hornberger + Worstell for the new Ritz-Carlton Highlands. The resort is located at mid-mountain at the Northstar Ski Resort halfway between Truckee and Lake Tahoe in northern California. It is linked to the ski village below by road and a high-speed ski lift that lands between the Lodge and the Club. The resort includes a Lodge with 175 rooms, 75 condominiums and 75 fractional ownership units. It features a "Headhouse" reminiscent of the early national park lodges of the Northwest while offering exceptional service and thoroughly modern facilities. The resort offers sk-in/ski-out for guests and owners, along with a full service spa and conference facilities with casual to fine dining. The complete facility will be over 860,000 square feet including parking and a memorable chapel in the woods.
