Parker, CORocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine is currently under constructionin the Town of Parker - Douglas County, Colorado that will attract students and faculty from around the world.OZ Architecture was retained to create a new university campus where the buildings surround lush courtyards and pathways creating an inviting atmosphere for higher learning. It is fundamentally important to the proposed development that the common areas relate and engage the outdoors, both visually and functionally, while still maintaining proper security controls. Classroom and lecture halls will be designed to incorporate the latest medical education practices and theories. State-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and technology will be installed to maximize learning capacity. In addition, wireless capacity will exist throughout the entire facility with multiple work/study areas for students. Sustainable practices will be followed including the use of natural light and energy efficiency. Phase One-135,000 GSF, the first building of this proposed new campus will provide the design direction the University will implement for the future creation of the entire campus. Phase One will be designed with the flexibility for multi-use and accommodations for change. Phase One has a slated completion date of September 2008. Future space needs will be driven by student enrollment with facilities for staff, lecture halls, lab and common areas. It is projected that the university will include a College of Nursing and a College of Dentistry to accommodate future interest and enrollment. Additionally, administrative, childcare, and fitness facilities will be incorporated to assist in Rocky Vista's overall quest to provide an atmosphere conducive to effective learning, health, and well-being. *Currently under Construction
