The Nature Conservancy

Boulder, CO

The Nature Conservancy of Colorado Headquarters Building is the commercial centerpiece of the Iron Flats mixed-use development in Boulder. It is located between the historic Whittier residential neighborhood, a busy commercial district, and a public park. The design was intended to combine traditional elements with more contemporary components in a harmonious way. Another challenge/opportunity for this building was to provide the level of environmental consideration demanded by a client such as The Nature Conservancy. The extensive use of natural exterior materials like stone, brick, rusted metal panels, cement fiberboard panels and wood reflect an image consistent with this organization.
